The University Of Vocational Technology (UNIVOTEC) is established by parliamentary Act No, 31 of 2008. This university has the same legal and academic status as any other national university in Sri Lanka.
This university vision is to be the leading university providing technical and vocational education for all with aspirations to achieve professional excellence.
Our university mission is to provide services in human resources, curriculum, learning resources development, reserch and consultancy.
The logo shows our university’s NVQ levels. In the past UNIVOTEC opened for ‘ NVQ’ students. But in future, this university open for NVQ and A/L students. Now UNIVOTEC have fifteen degree courses. Bachelor Of Media Arts Production Technology Degree Course and Bachelor Of Hotel Management Degree course are new degree courses in UNIVOTEC.
We are the first batch of Media Arts Production Technology Degree programme. Now UNIVOTEC has many of facilities. They are AC rooms, many of computer labs,Other technical labs etc.
In this year August 11th is our university celebrated in anniversary. So I proud to be a UNIVOTEC student.
