The annual colombo International Book Fair was held on BMICH ( Bandaranayaka Memorial International Conference Hall) from 20 to 29 september 2019. This was the 20th BMICH book exhibition. This book fair is organized by the sri lanka book publisher's association.
I also went there. Actually it was a wonderland with books. We can buy various books from 450 exhibitors, including 40 from abroad. I couldnt image which book i should buy. And it was fully crowded. Everyone came to visit the book fair. No matter how old them. All big and small ones came there. Parents never missed this book fair. They ware trying to buy lots of books for their children. Special thing was, book publishers gave special discounts ranging from 10% to 50%.

There are many kinds of books. Such as novels, translations, buddhist and religious, exercise books, work books, picture books, text books, awarded books and ect. Many famous publishers stoles also in this book fair. For example Wasana publishers, Sadeepa publishers, Godage publishers and many.
Books are our friends. We can get many knowledge from books. It is a good idea to hold exhibitions of this nature at a time when the interest of books is diminishing with the advancement of technology.This exhibition was a great opportunity to every ones.
