10th years for the university of vocational technology
The university of
Vocational Technology mainly consists of two faculties, eleven departments and
there are above 1800 students in different fields such as mechatronics,
manufacturing, food process, software, media
arts production, network, web and multimedia , , Film and television
production, building service construction technology, industrial management and
teaching technology.
The Chancellor is the
head of the university and responsible for awarding all the academic degrees
the Chancellor is the distinguished person in an academic discipline.
The appointment of Chancellor is done by the president of the Sri Lanka. The current Chancellor of the university is Prof. Dayantha Wijesekare. The vice Chancellor is the academic principal and administrative officer of the university and he is the responsible for management tasks. This appointment is also done by the president of Sri Lanka. The vice Chancellor is Prof. G.L.D. Wickramasinge.

last ten years several officers, such as the chancellor, vice chancellor have
been elected. The first vice chancellor was prof; Kapila Gunasekara. The
second vice chancellor Dr: T.A.Piyasiri. The present vice chancellor is G.L.D.
Wickramasinghe. Chancellor Vidya jothi emeritus prof. Dayantha.S. Wijeysekera.
The D.G Nilmini Diyabedanage. The logo of the mother of the university is a
lamp with seven circle. This circle indicates the nation vocational qualification.
